Bram Sheckels was destined to pursue a career in the Arts from a very young age. He got his start playing violin when he was 3 years old, and hasn't deviated from the artistic path since. Initially growing up as an aspiring musician, Bram attended the School for Creative and Performing Arts in Cincinnati, Ohio. It was here that he inadvertently discovered an untapped passion for theatrical production, and ultimately solidified his efforts around this work.
Bram holds a B.S from Butler University in Arts Administration with a concentration in theatre. During his tenure at Butler, Bram occupied his time by working as a Butler Theatre shop assistant/scenic carpenter, and as a stagehand/lighting designer, at the Schrott Center for the Arts.
Although early in his career, the list of companies he has worked with includes, Cincinnati Opera, Indianapolis Opera, The Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Dance Kaleidoscope, Butler University, Anderson University, Ball State University, Asante Children's Theatre, and most recently GLMMR.
As a stage manager, Bram worked for Indianapolis Opera for two seasons. He has freelanced for ballet, musicals, concerts, and opera, and has stage managed over 400 live events at The Schrott Center for the Arts.
His lighting design credits continue to grow. His most recent work being for the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Ball State University, Anderson University, Sidra Bell Dance, and the Indianapolis Symphonic Choirs' Festival of Carols.
Bram is currently the Production Manager of the Schrott Center for the Arts. With the help of Assistant Production Manager Kelly Schmidt, Bram conducts a union crew, manages and trains a student crew of 30 , and oversees nearly every technical aspect of more than 300 yearly events. In addition to his production manager duties, Bram regularly works as a supplemental lighting designer, sound engineer, deck hand, stage manager and videographer for the Schrott's events and clients.
